Hua Hin is set to become the focus of the tennis world as it hosts the Thailand Open 2024 next January at the Arena Hua Hin.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) International Series Tournament returns for its latest edition, offering a prize pool of $300,000 USD, which is roughly 10 million baht, confirming Thailand’s growing status as a key destination for world-class tennis competitions.

The Thailand Open, a WTA 250 event, will commence with qualifying rounds slated for January 27-28, followed by the main draw competition running from January 29 to February 4. This tournament marks the fourth occasion Arena Hua Hin will serve as the host, highlighting the region’s capacity to hold international sporting events.

The Proud Group, alongside Arena Hua Hin, has been confirmed by the WTA to organize the event, which is anticipated to draw tennis enthusiasts from across Thailand and beyond.

Previous iterations of the event have attracted global tennis stars such as Garbiñe Muguruza from Spain, Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina and Dayana Yastremska, Hungary’s Tímea Babos, Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard, Poland’s Magda Linette, Croatia’s Petra Martić, Hsieh Su-wei from Taiwan, and China’s Zheng Saisai and Zhu Lin.

Thai tennis is also well represented, with national icons “Tammy” Tamarine Tanasugarn and Luksika Kumkhum among others expected to grace the courts, offering local fans a chance to rally behind home-grown talent.

The Thailand Open 2024 also gives the local community in Hua Hin the chance to experience international world class tennis firsthand.

The tournament promises to be a week of high-caliber tennis as the athletes vie for the title and share of the prize money.
