Hua Hin will honor three local athletes who triumphed at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, last month.

A parade, starting at 13:00 hrs at the Arena Hua Hin Sports Club, will mark the high point of the day’s activities.

Local sports heroes — taekwondo gold medalist Mr. Ballangk Thaptimdaeng, silver medalist in kiteboarding Miss Benyapa ‘Fawn’ Jantawan, and bronze medalist in the same sport Mr. Joseph Jonathan Weston — will be the guests of honor at the ceremony.

The athletes, along with officials, are scheduled to arrive at the Arena Hua Hin at 13:00 hrs, where they will be greeted with a ceremonial welcome at Sportsman Park by 13:15 hrs. The parade will then proceed through the city to Bluport and Market Village.

During the event, Bluport Hua Hin Shopping Mall is set to unveil an exhibition detailing the biographies of each athelete. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to witness the athletes leave their handprints and sign autographs.

Further homage will be paid with the presentation of mementos from Bluport Hua Hin’s management and souvenirs from The Legend Arena by notable former Thai national taekwondo athlete, Miss Yaowapa Boorapolchai (View). The festivities are to conclude with a performance by the band from Wang Klai Kangwon School, under royal patronage.

Miss Wajee Klomkleang, an executive of Hua Hin Asset Co., Ltd., highlighted the communal effort behind the reception, involving Bluport Hua Hin’s management, local sports authorities, city officials, the private sector, and various sports clubs.

Bluport Hua Hin, under the stewardship of General Manager Mr. Chokchai Wongjakphat, extends its congratulations to the medalists. The event not only celebrates their victories but also reflects the mall’s ongoing commitment to promoting Hua Hin as a destination for sports excellence. With the support of legends like Miss Yaowapha, Bluport envisions nurturing local talent and attracting new athletes, aiming to strengthen Thailand’s future in competitive sports.

The residents of Hua Hin and visitors alike are encouraged to join the parade from 1pm on Nov 8.
