Getting to Hua Hin

By Taxi Taking a taxi from Bangkok to Hua Hin (distance about 200 km) is possible. Price after negotiation should cost around 2,000 baht.

The price for a taxi from Suwarnabhumi (Bangkok) airport with 4 persons and 6 bags approximate 3,000 baht. The limousine services, available at Bangkok Airport, are more expensive than an ordinary taxi.

Private taxi from Hua Hin to BKK Airport should be in 2,500-3,000 baht, and is bookable via agents around town. A few are located outside the post office, and others are along Naresdamri Rd.

By Bus

Air-conditioned buses leave the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok every 30 minutes between 0500 and 2200 for Hua Hin. The journey takes about 3 hours and costs 180 Baht. The air-conditioned bus terminal in Hua Hin is at the Siri Petchkasem Hotel on Srasong Rd, near Dechanuchit Rd, and buses leave for Bangkok every 30-40 minutes daily between 0300 and 2100.

By Rail

Trains are an easy way to get to Hua Hin, as the train station is right in the centre of the town. However, the trains go very slowly getting away from Bangkok, so the two and a half hour road time to Hua Hin stretches to 5 or 6 on the train.

The price of the train is around 100 baht (and only 44 baht for ordinary trains). Most trains on the southern route stop at Hua Hin. They leave Bangkok?s Hua Lamphong and Bang Sue railway stations 10 times daily between 0805 and 2250. It takes 4 hours for the journey.

By Minibus

This is one of the quickest ways to reach Hua Hin, taking as little as 2.5 hours - depending on traffic - and one of the other major advantages is that the journey there terminates in the city centre, at Victory Monument. This location is right on the skytrain which makes your journey easy. In Hua Hin, the minivans arrive and depart from a few sites around Petchkasem Road. The longest established is situated in the soi on the western side of Petchkasem, opposite the Esso garage, just north of Chomsin Road. At time of writing, the minibus fee was 200baht. Unless you book an extra seat, luggage space can be very limited.
